Over 20 Years Of Public Service
Dave was first sworn in to the Illinois General Assembly in 1995. Currently, he is serving his seventh term in office for the 68th district, in Winnebago county. The district includes all or part of Rockton, Roscoe, Loves Park, Machesney Park, South Beloit, Shirland, and the northern portion of Rockford.
In 2003, Dave’s Republican colleagues selected him Assistant Republican House Leader. Dave helps determine the policy positions of the Republican caucus and takes an active role in floor debate.
A 1970 graduate of Hononegah High School, Dave obtained his B.A. in European History at Dartmouth College in 1974 with High Honors, and his M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1976.
Dave served six years on the Winnebago County Board before election to the General Assembly.
Dave and his wife, Kathleen, were married in 1975. They have two children and currently operate their farm in Shirland, growing corn, soybeans, and prairie grasses for seed.
