Post Journal newspaper endorses Dave Winters for
68th District Representative
In the race for State Representative of the 68th District, the Post Journal announces its endorsement of Republican incumbent Dave Winters.
Winters has a proven track record of success in northern Illinois government and has the experience necessary to effectively lead the constituents of the 68th District.
Winters has served seven terms as Representative and prior to that spent six years as a member of the Winnebago County Board.
A hard-working farmer, Winters has a good understanding of agricultural issues and the importance of agriculture in northern Illinois. He also has shown consistent support of small business, the environment, education and families.
He has demonstrated that he is a "hands on" leader by visiting with struggling business owners to hear their concerns during these tough economic times.
He has been a protector of the environment, even working this year to get funding for energy saving method of construction in new school facilities and pushing for "green" home building legislation. Winters also supports a freeze on property tax rates for senior citizens.
Given his experience and record of working hard for the people of the 68th District, the choice is clear; Winters for 68th District Reprsentative
